Greetings from the Interim Superintendent

Mr. Pat Hocking
2025-26 Introduction and Welcome
Dear CPU Nation,

I am honored to serve as the Interim Superintendent of the Center Point-Urbana Community School District and truly appreciate the trust placed in me to help facilitate this important transition year for CPU.

It is a privilege to support a district where students, staff, families, and community members all play a vital role in creating an environment where learners thrive. I look forward to focusing on strengthening our district’s positive culture, maintaining responsible financial stewardship, advancing the construction process tied to the recent bond vote, and ensuring a smooth and successful onboarding experience for our new building leaders.

The district’s mission—to develop successful, life-long learners by providing a safe and caring environment, a stimulating curriculum, and a dedicated staff working with supportive parents in a friendly, small-town atmosphere—remains at the heart of our work. This year, I am committed to leading with transparency, communication, and collaboration to uphold that mission and move our district forward.

Thank you for your continued support. Please feel free to reach out to me or any member of the leadership team if you have questions or ideas to share. Together, we will make this a year of growth and momentum for CPU.

Warmest Regards,

Pat Hocking
Interim Superintendent of Schools 25-26

2024 General Obligation Bond Passes!

I am thrilled to share that the voters of the Center Point-Urbana Community School District have approved the $20.615 million general obligation bond referendum with 63.33% support! This marks a significant step forward for our district as we embark on a multi-phase improvement plan to enhance facilities and resources across all CPU schools.

In 2024, only 13 bonds were approved while 21 failed across the state. Despite this challenging environment, CPU ranked #6 in approval percentage—a remarkable testament to the strength and support of CPU Nation! To see the entire list, click HERE.

Thank you to our incredible community for recognizing the importance of investing in the future of our students and schools. Your support ensures we can address evolving needs and continue building a strong foundation for generations to come. I’m proud to be part of this remarkable community—together, we are truly Stormin’ Pointers strong!
