Greetings from the Superintendent

Mr. John W. Elkin
2024-25 Welcome
Dear CPU Nation:

I am honored to continue serving as the superintendent of the Center Point-Urbana Community School District and look forward to leading the collaborative efforts to further enhance the Center Point-Urbana School District as a remarkable place to live, work, and educate our students.

The district’s mission statement outlines the standards we are dedicated to: “… develop successful, life-long learners by providing a safe and caring environment, a stimulating curriculum, and a dedicated staff working with supportive parents in a friendly, small-town atmosphere.”

To achieve this mission, our leadership will focus on a unified vision with staff, families, and the community to ensure all students learn at high levels. This vision will be supported by maintaining safe and secure schools, fostering a healthy culture, and aligning systems for efficient and effective operations.

As we move forward, my commitment, along with that of all district leaders, is to prioritize transparency, communication, and celebration of our achievements. Your support, honesty, and engagement are invaluable to our shared success. Together, we can create the best possible educational environment for our students. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any district leader with questions or for assistance.

Respectfully,
John W. Elkin
Superintendent of Schools
