Calendars
CPU’s academic calendar is annually established and approved by the school board. Development of the calendar is conducted by the board and the administrative team, along with input from members of the public through public hearings on the calendar. Per state law, the school year must begin later than August 23rd, and include a minimum of 1,080 hours of instructional time.
| At the 3/27/24 School Board Meeting, two options were approved in anticipation of potential legislative changes in Iowa law that would permit schools to commence prior to August 23. Families will be notified once the law is passed or rejected. It’s important to note that the only variances between the two options are the start and end dates of the school year.
