Positive Behavior Supports (PBIS)
Middle School
PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) is a comprehensive, school-wide approach to creating a consistent, predictable, safe, and positive school environment. The approach also offers a consistent plan to address behavior challenges. The Center Point–Urbana School District is a PK-12 active participant in this approach.
CPU has implemented the PBIS Approach since 2012. The basic premise for the PBIS approach is to set expectations, teach the expectations, and then recognize students for following those expectations.
Caring, Positive Attitude, and Upstanding Citizen
Center Point Urbana’s general themes for promoting positive behavior on our school campus are: being a Caring Person, having a Positive Attitude, and being an Upstanding Citizen. We are CPU!
