Sarah Tobiason is the Principal at Center Point Urbana Primary.  She is also the Preschool Director for the Pointer Pup Preschool which serves the 3 and 4-year-old preschool students in the district.

Ms. Tobiason has served the last ten years as a principal in the state of Iowa. Before coming to CPU, she served in the Decorah School District for five years and also in the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont School District for three years. In both positions, she served as an Elementary Principal, District Director of Special Education, and District Equity Coordinator. At EBF Schools she also served as the District Preschool Director and as the creator working alongside a team of educators in developing a seven-school consortium program for students who struggled to regulate behavior. Her work as a classroom instructor took place in both Iowa and Minnesota in vocal music.

Within all of these roles, Ms. Tobiason’s love for family, students, and community has remained very strong! She looks forward to continuing with traditions, collaborating with all stakeholders, and to making new and lasting memories! 

Ms. Tobiason received her undergraduate degree in music from Luther College, Decorah, IA. Her administrative degree was received from Drake University, Des Moines, IA. Ms.Tobiason also holds a Superintendent’s license from the University of Northern Iowa and is currently working on her Doctoral degree.    

In her position at Center Point Urbana Primary, Ms.Tobiason provides professional learning and training for all building staff members. She oversees daily instruction, staff evaluation, and educational program improvement. She oversees behavior, discipline, and attendance for students and supervises student activities.
